Dr Ciara Harris
Physiotherapist and Research Fellow
Ciara is a chartered physiotherapist who has worked clinically within the NHS and now works primarily in research. Her research interests focus on delivery of acute healthcare outside the traditional hospital setting, including in Hospital at Home, with a current particular focus on decision-making in this area and the role of physiotherapists in these decisions.
Ciara has been involved with the UK Hospital at Home Society since shortly after its inception and is keen to support others, especially AHP’s, in connecting, and developing their skills and roles in HaH. She is working particularly with other HaH Society committee members from non-medic professions to support this aim, and to develop resources for AHPs, nurses, pharmacists and others with an interest in HaH.
Clinically, she has worked in various settings, including at the hospital front-door, prior to her move into research. She continues to undertake some clinical work in a respiratory setting, alongside her research role.
