Michelle Skillington is an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner for South East Coast Ambulance Service. She has worked for the Ambulance service for over 20 years; starting in London as an Ambulance Technician before moving onto becoming a Paramedic. Michelle had opportunities to do various roles within London and worked within the Tactical Response Unit, Medical Response Team, Forward Incident Team, Clinical Team Leader, Rapid Response Unit as well as a Frontline Paramedic. Three years ago Michelle took the move to join South East Coast Ambulance Service and is studying to be an ACP at Masters level. Michelle aims to deliver more advanced care and treatment to patients to prevent unnecessary ED admissions. Michelle works within a West Kent multi-disciplinary team to reduce inappropriate ED admission and reduce 999 calls from care/nursing homes.
